Hi. I am trying to decide on a time to visit. I’ve heard that disney is all out Halloween 10/31 and transformed to Christmas beginning 11/1. Is this true? Will the decorations change overnight? Thanks

Hi there Magan, welcome to planDisney!

The transformation of Walt Disney World Resort from the spooktacular Halloween decorations to the festive Holiday decorations is truly magical!

The final Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is on October 31st on Halloween night.  After the final party, you'll usually see all of the Halloween decorations taken down, and with the flick of a magic wand, the Holidays begin to appear throughout the theme parks!  The event dates for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights have not been released just yet, but I would keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for that exciting announcement!

In the past, the Halloween decorations have been removed overnight after the final Halloween special event, but it may take several days for the full transformation to happen.  If you do visit Walt Disney World Resort during the end of October into early November, you may be lucky enough to experience both celebrations!  I can't think of anything more fun and festive than to experience both Halloween and the Holidays at the "Most Magical Place on Earth!"

As information becomes available, I would also explore Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park as well as Disney Jollywood Nights at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  Both are special events that are sure to get you into the Holiday spirit, and are a unique way to experience the theme parks during the Holiday season!

I hope this information is helpful for your trip planning, Magan!  Please come back to planDisney as you plan your vacation, we're happy to help with any other questions!

    Have a magical day,
    Melissa
