Hi moms! I am trying to decide on taking my boys to Disney for Christmas. Their ages are 4, 2 & 1. My main question is which hotel has the most festive decorations and activities? Also, 1 day at the park or the Mickey Christmas party? Why?

    Hi Jessica!

The two hotels that are best decorated for the holidays are the Wilderness Lodge and the Grand Floridian.  Between the two, I prefer the Wilderness Lodge, but that's not really fair... The Wilderness Lodge is my favorite resort at Walt Disney World regardless of the time of year!

Both of those resorts are Disney Deluxe Resorts.  I don't think the Moderates and Values are that decorated to be honest, but that's just my opinion.  My favorite Moderate Resort is Port Orleans Riverside and my favorite Value Resort is Pop Century.

I recommend visiting the Magic Kingdom during the day as opposed to visiting only during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.  Both times are spectacular, but with very young children, I wonder if you will get the value out of the Christmas Party.  The special Christmas Party events don't start until 7 pm and that's usually pretty late already for very young guests.  My recommendation instead would be to spend a full day in the Magic Kingdom, being sure to be there about 30 minutes before the park's official opening time.  The parks are least crowded early in the morning and just get more crowded as the day progresses.

Good luck with your decision and write back if you have any more questions!
