Trying to decide to stay at Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter. Will be 2 adults and a 6 year old. We spend our days at the parks and not so much the resorts. What are the differences and benefits of each? Help me decide

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Pam!

I’m thrilled to learn you are considering two of the loveliest resort hotels at the Walt Disney World Resort. This is a tricky question to answer. Both resorts have their own charm and beauty. But there are some differences that might help you decide.

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort is a unique resort that features two sister properties. A great guest benefit is that you are able to enjoy the amenities of both hotels when you choose to stay here. My favorite amenity is hands down the Sassagoula River Cruise transportation option that takes you to Disney Springs.

Both properties are uniquely beautiful. Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside has that southern charm with stately mansions from a different, more tranquil time. Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is colorful, fun, and festive. A New Orleans Mardi Gras party fit for the entire family. Riverside is a larger resort. I personally prefer the smaller, more quaint size of French Quarter. It’s also easier to navigate after a long park day. Riverside houses a delicious table service restaurant, Boatwright’s Dining Hall, while the only place to find the tastiest beignets in all of the Walt Disney World Resort is at French Quarter.

So, as you can see, it’s almost a coin toss. But whichever you chose, I’m certain you will be delighted! Be sure to see all the great recreation activities to enjoy during your visit. The Horse-drawn carriage is the best way to get a tour of the beautiful grounds.

Thanks again for stopping by! Please do come back and see us again soon!
