Hi Sharon!
Welcome back to planDisney! What a decision you have on your hands!
First and foremost, after staying at both of those resorts, I can confidently say that you can’t make a wrong choice! I love both of these resorts for different reasons.
If I had to choose between the two, the main things I’d consider are location and transportation to the parks, and I'd pick the more convenient one based on our plans.
The
Contemporary is the closest resort you’ll get to Magic Kingdom. You can also easily access the Polynesian and Grand Floridian, which are home to some amazing restaurants. The
Beach Club is the closest resort you’ll get to Epcot, and you’re right next to the Yacht Club and the Boardwalk. The
Boardwalk has some of my favorite nighttime entertainment at Disney, so you could take advantage of that!
As far as
transportation goes, from the Contemporary, you can take a walking path or the Monorail to get to Magic Kingdom. You can also take the Monorail to Epcot and nearby resorts. Bus transportation is provided to the other theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs.
From the Beach Club, you can take a walking path or a boat to Epcot or Hollywood Studios. You’re even close to the Epcot Skyliner hub if you’d like to take the Skyliner over to Hollywood Studios or nearby resorts. Bus transportation is available for the other theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs.
Beyond those two main items, you can look at the amenities and overall vibe of each resort. The Contemporary has modern decor, but it also has so much history and nostalgia, as it’s one of the original resorts at Disney World. The Beach Club has a much more laid-back, casual vibe, and it arguably has the best pool of any
Disney World resort.
I know I can’t make the decision for you, but hopefully that gives you some guidance! If you have any other questions as you continue to plan or want to dive into the resort decision a little more, feel free to come back and visit us. We’re always happy to help!
