Trying to decide which is more relaxing, POR or Poly. Want to get away from the crowds on off-park days. Concerns with Poly, crowded pool?, is it hard to go to bed early with the fireworks so near? concerns with POR, transportation...Thx for the help!

Kathie, unlike most of life's dilemmas your question has only good outcomes. Any resort choice at Walt Disney World will be awesome!

With unique recreation choices such as cane pole fishing, horse-drawn carriage ride, and the Ol' Man Island swimming complex, Disney's Port Orleans Resort-Riverside certainly has plenty of options to keep you entertained. The lush landscaping and theming make you fell as though you are leisurely strolling through the deep south on a lazy afternoon. Here you can actually forget the world's most popular theme park is only a quick bus ride away. If you want peace, quiet, a great pool, and to feel far away from the crowds this might be the resort for you. Plus Port Orleans is less expensive.

Disney' s Polynesian Resort, however, would be my first choice. The convenience of a monorail resort and the luxury of a deluxe accommodations are hard to top. The pool here is only for guests staying at the resort so crowds are not a problem. After a full day in the parks, fireworks will not keep you up at night. A benefit of staying at the Poly is you can bundle your kids up, take them out in their pjs, and watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach. You can be back in bed before guests in the Magic Kingdom even exit the park!

Either resort will be magical! Enjoy!
