Hi! I am trying to decide on which hotel to stay at with my family for Marathon Weekend. I see that in the past Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Villas at Animal Kingdom Lodge were not host resorts for the weekend. Has this changed?

    Hi Jennifer,

There is nothing like the energy of Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend! You can feel the excitement as Guests from all over the world come to this happy place to discover their limits, and then push right through them. You are going to love it.

While I have not yet seen the official announcement for 2017, all Walt Disney World Resort Hotels have been "Host" Resorts for the last several Walt Disney World Marathon Weekends. In fact, I chose to stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village while I ran the Walt Disney World Marathon in 2015, and it could not have been more convenient. Dedicated runDisney Health & Fitness Expo Busses ran very frequently throughout the weekend, with pickup from the center island under the Porte Cochere. On race morning, I never waited for more than just a few minutes for a bus to the staging area at Epcot. While Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village has a fantastic reputation for convenient bus service, I found it even better than normal during this weekend. I recommend it very highly.

I hope that helps as you begin your planning for 26.2 Magical miles. Please don't hesitate to pop back by with any other questions. Train hard!

    Wishing you many magical memories,

    Sally
