I am trying to decide if Fantasmic will be appropriate for my kids. This is our first trip to WDW, son will be 5 and daughter will be almost 3. I'm worried they may fixate on the evil part of the show and am wondering if we should do it next time.

    Thomas:

I'm taking off my Mickey ears and putting on my Mom ears: You know your children best. Go with your gut. If you think you should wait, especially since it sounds like there's gonna be a "next-time," then wait.

When our family went to Fantasmic for the first time with pre-schoolers, I was unprepared for the dark approach of the show, nevermind the storyline that, quite honestly, was hard for me as an adult to follow!  With a 6-year-old son who's seen Star Wars and other good vs. evil movies, you'd think I'd brush this question off, but I remember being scared at the witch in Snow White. So I'll give you the same advice I give my friends: if you're the least hesitant, then don't see it. Wait until your 3-year-old is old enough to enjoy the pyrotechnics, floats and big picture of good vanquishing evil.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
