Trying to decide where to eat lunch on our last day.Family is not too familiar with German food; kids (8 & 12) are good eaters though. Thinking of Biergarten, but wondering what your thoughts are on the food? Could stick with Teppan Edo or Via Napoli.

    Hi Denise,

My family loves dining at Walt Disney World and exploring new foods. We always have difficulty narrowing down our restaurant choices.

One of the things I love about the buffets such as Biergarten is that it offers a chance to taste something new without committing to an entire entree. If your kids are somewhat adventurous, I think you will enjoy the experience there, and they may find a new favorite food.

The buffet features a section of salads and cold meats, plus many hot dishes with a German flair. The names may be unfamiliar to your children, but the ingredients shouldn't be -- pork, chicken, veal, salmon and beef. I love the variety of sausages, the warm German potato salad, the sauerbraten and the goulash soup, if it is featured that day.

As with all the buffets, there also is a kids section with mac and cheese, chicken tenders and other plainer offerings for the less adventurous.

The show at Biergarten is fun, too, with the oompah band and guests dancing the chicken dance.

I hope that helps you make your decision. We are huge fans of Via Napoli as well, so I understand that dilemma. But for my crew, Biergarten probably ranks a bit above Teppan Edo on our list of favorites.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Please stop back again if we can offer any more advice. Enjoy your time at Walt Disney World with your family!
