    Trying to decide between Disneyland Hotel and Grand California for my son's first trip to Disneyland. We like how both are close to the parks but how much further is Disneyland Hotel? Also, can we get inside Disneyland via monorail from Downtown Disney?

    I’m glad to hear you’re planning your son’s first visit to The Happiest Place on Earth. I bet you can’t wait to explore the parks with your little one and see all the magic through his eyes!

    Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is my top pick for families with small children because it’s the closest to the theme parks, making trips back to the hotel room for naps quick and easy. This hotel also offers a private entrance into Disney California Adventure Park for Disneyland Resort Hotel guests. 

    The Disneyland Hotel is also a great option because its rooms are by far the most spacious of all three resort hotels, and it’s only a 5- to 10-minute walk from Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. It is close to the monorail station in the Downtown Disney District, so you can hop on for a ride directly into Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park. 

    Be sure to take advantage of early theme park entry, which is currently offered to guests of the Disneyland Resort Hotels on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for Disneyland Park and on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for Disney California Adventure Park.
