We are trying to decide when to take our Disney cruise-- December or late April/early May. Can you offer some +/- on the time. My main concern is the temperature and water temp. My boys want to snorkel at Castway Cay and swim with dolphins in Tortola.

    Hey, Ernest!

Congratulations on considering a Disney Cruise Line vacation for your family's time together and away from it all -- my family of six has never regretted one moment or one cent spent on a Disney cruise!

As far as time of year, there is a little more certainty of warm weather (and warm water temperatures) for a spring cruise to the Bahamas/Caribbean than one in December. I have been on winter and spring Disney cruises and experienced great weather for both -- warm in the winter (70s/lower 80s) and hot in the spring (80s/lower 90s). Yet, the weather is just a little more unpredictable in the winter in the Caribbean -- I've had friends who wore jackets on a Disney cruise in December. Therefore, if your heart is set on swimming and snorkeling, then your best bet is to opt for the spring.

I hope this helps you plan. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
