I am trying to decide if the Dining plan is worth it. I am a DVC member and therefore get discounts are certain restaurants. I do want to take my family to at least two character dining events. Which are the best value & what is the $ of refillable

    Hi Sharon,

The Disney Dining Plan is such a wonderful way to experience the fine dining at Walt Disney World.  The plan is most economic when you use one Table Service meal every night.  The Disney Dining Plan includes one Table Service meal, one Quick Service meal, and one snack a night plus a refillable resort mug.  If you want to have a sit down meal every day versus just Quick Service meals, this plan is a great option.  Disney Vacation Club members do get some discounts (usually 10% off) certain restaurants and certain meals.  I would suggest to visit www.dvcmember.com and look under Member Perks for the most recent dining perks.  These perks change regularly and usually do not include character dining.  Some of my favorite character dining experiences are the Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom, the Garden Grille and the Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot, Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary, and 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian.  If you are paying cash for any of the meals, lunch or breakfast is usually less expensive than dinner. The refillable mug costs $14.95 plus tax at any of the resorts.  I would recommend the Disney Dining Plan for your trip and encourage you to make Advanced Dining Reservations as you can do this up to 180 days prior to your visit.  You can do this now from the DVC website or by calling member services.  I hope you have a magical vacation.  Let me know if I can help you with anything else, Sharon.  Welcome Home!
