We are trying to decide on a date to go to Disney World. We would like to go about middle of September, but we are hesitant because my daughter is really afraid of Halloween activities and decorations. Is  there much decoration etc?

Hi, Janelle!   September is a nice time of year to go to WDW.   While it can still be quite warm, the crowds are smaller and you can see a lot during your time in the parks.

Most of the Halloween decorations are more "Fall" themed than Halloween.   There are nice fall colored decorations, pumpkins, but nothing scary.

I would suggest you skip Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.   We went when my kids were 2 and 5, and they were both a bit intimidated.   It wasn't really that scary, but to my kids, it was just too much.  They enjoyed the trick-or-treating, but the parade was very scary to them and we ended up leaving.

Now I have to say, most would disagree with me and say the Halloween Party it isn't scary at all, but I am just sharing my experience with my kids.   And since you said your daughter is not a fan of anything scary, just avoid the party.   During regular park hours, you will not have any problems.

Attractions you might want to skip:   Snow White's Scary Adventures and the Haunted Mansion.  Also, take a pass on Fantasmic until your daughter is a bit older and doesn't find the Disney Villains frightening.   If you have any more questions about your September trip, let us know!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
