I am trying to decide between the Contemporary (standard, garden wing) or Wilderness Lodge (bunk beds rm). Our girls will be 7 and 5. Loved the Wilderness Lodge our first trip but Love the idea of staying at a monorail resort. Help please! Thanks!

Hi Julie! You have two great resorts to choose from for your Disney vacation. I have loved the Contemporary resort for many years and have stayed in the Garden wings and the main building. You need to realize that when staying in the Garden wings you are a bit of a distance from the main building. Then you need to reach the 4th floor to get to the monorail and dining and shops. This can be ok unless the weather is not good. The Garden wings are also close to the water bridge where every boat shuttle from the Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary, and Fort Wilderness must cross to get to the Magic Kingdom. When they go through this section they will need to use their horns and this can be disturbing to some guests who like to sleep late.

My only other thought about the Contemporary is that I don't find it as children friendly as other resorts. It has the feel of a little more of a convention resort then the Wilderness Lodge and some other Deluxe choices.

You certainly can't go wrong at either one. If you want to try something new then go for the Contemporary but if you just want to be somewhere that is relaxing and comfortable then return to Wilderness Lodge. Either way it will be a magical vacation!
