We are trying to decide if we should bring our own golf cart, our bicycles, or rely on the buses to Fort Wilderness Cabins in September. Would it be worth the gas used to pull the cart down behind our SUV?

    Hi Tracy!

Fort Wilderness is one of my FAVORITE resorts at Walt Disney World and in my opinion, having a golf cart is essential when staying here.

I'm not a fan of the Walt Disney World buses, just because I love being in charge of my own transportation and time.  Getting around while inside the campground can be a waiting game.  Although the buses come regularly, they stop a lot and you may not be all that close to a bus stop.  Having your own golf cart not only gives you the freedom of going anywhere you want when you want, but it's fun!  One of my favorite things to do at Fort Wilderness is joy ride.  A lot of the campers decorate their spaces, so it's a highlight for us to drive around and see all of the sites decorated.  In September, you may even seen some Halloween decorations go up!  If you don't want to bring your own golf cart, you can rent one there for close to $60/day, so it may be cost effective to bring your own.

Bikes are also great when staying at Fort Wilderness.  There are some beautiful trails to ride on and it's also a fun way to get around easily on your own.

    Have a magical day!
