Leanne, thank you for visiting the Moms Panel and asking a direct question!
Personally, I have never been to Walt Disney World Resort during the month of August. We always vacation in June and July. We are definitely "summer" people. We find that the crowds are not really that bad during June and July. I'm a firm believer in being at the Theme Park at Rope Drop (opening). We also take advantage of Extra Magic Hours since we always stay at one of Disney's resort hotels.
Now, the weather will be HAWT - not Hot! Leanne, you will need to make sure your family stays hydrated by drinking a ton of water! Again, get the Theme Parks early in the morning when the sun isn't too bad. We always leave out before noon - that's the hottest time of the day - for a swim or nap at the resort. This is very important with younger Guests. And we go back to the Theme Parks in the late evening to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours.
I can say that my family has taken advantage of one of the many promotions that has been offered. Please visit HERE to find out about the current Special Offers. Continue to visit this page because you never know when Disney will sprinkle some Pixie Dust our way!
I know planning a Walt Disney World vacation can be overwhelming so please let me know if you have any additional questions!
Have a magical day and let the memories begin!!
