Hi Joel,
You are choosing between two restaurants that I love! Both
Tusker House Restaurant and
Boma - Flavors of Africa offer expansive buffets with both African-inspired fare as well as some traditional American favorites. There are some differences between the two. Let me share what I see as the big differences.
Tusker House Restaurant is located in
Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. As such, you will need theme park admission for the day that you wish to dine there. Boma - Flavors of Africa is located in
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. This means that you will not need theme park admission for anytime that you wish to dine there. Also, Tusker House Restaurant is a character meal, where you can meet Donald Duck and his friends dressed in safari gear at any meal. Please do note that character appearances are subject to change Boma - Flavors of Africa does not feature characters. Tusker House Restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, while Boma - Flavors of Africa offers breakfast and dinner.
As to menu, I find that the menu at Boma - Flavors of Africa is more expansive than that at Tusker House Restaurant. The soups at Boma - Flavors of Africa are amazing! From the links I provided to the restaurants, you can look at menus for all of the meals.
In the end, I think that both of these restaurants offer excellent dining experiences, and which you ultimately choose will depend on the type of experience you would like to have. I hope that the thoughts here help you to make this decision, Joel! Please let us know if you have any further questions.
