Welcome to planDisney, Theresa!
How exciting to be looking towards your Disney Cruise Line vacation! I love putting together the pieces of such a special trip, and I’m happy to help you understand your options and ensure you arrive to the port on time. One of my favorite pop country songs to get in the mood for a cruise says, “get away to where the boat leaves from, it takes away all of your big problems… all your worries you can drop ‘em in the blue ocean, but you gotta get away to where the boat leaves from!” Indeed, getting to the port is the first and most critical step before you can officially sail away for your magical escape.
I don’t know your cruise date or departure port from your question so I will share some general information and guidance for where to look. If you’d like to write back by sending in another question and provide the sail date and departure port, we can help with more detailed information on exact times for arrival. You can send me this information directly by clicking on “get an answer from this panelist” on my biography page. Or, you may always submit additional planning questions as you did this one and gain additional perspectives from one of my cruise panel pals!
Disney Cruise Line offers ground transportation from airports and select hotels near departure ports or the Walt Disney World Resort. This service is available as a per-person purchase that you add onto your cruise. I love this option as it leaves the travel logistics and stress to Disney, and you can switch into vacation mode as soon as you arrive! Disney can also assist with flight purchases if you wish. Please see all the details here:
You’ll find key information listed for each departure port on these pages. On the Ground Transportation page, you’ll see the guidance from Disney as to the latest advisable times for flight arrivals and earliest departures on the day you disembark. You may always
call Disney Cruise Line if you’d like information pertaining to your specific sailing and departure port, along with any particular logistics you need to know if planning air and ground transportation on your own.
I hope to “sea” you again here real soon, Theresa! Please let us know your itinerary details and we’d be glad to dig into more detailed information for you.
Happy planning and wishing you a magical sailing!
Amy
