Trying to clarify rider switch. My child (under 2yo) does not do well waiting in lines. Can I use rider switch to get through the line while he and my husband wait outside, then when I get to the front they can join me and we all go on the ride together?

Hey there, hi there, K! Welcome to planDisney. We love helping Guests plan their upcoming visits and we'd love to help you!

I wholeheartedly believe Disneyland Resort is a place for Guests of all ages, even the little Mousketeers who may not enjoy or be able to ride all of the attractions yet. Rider Switch is a fantastic service that families can utilize when you have a Guest in your party who doesn't meet boarding requirements or has trouble waiting for the duration of the queue. So this service would be perfect for your situation, however, it works a little differently and you wouldn't be riding the attraction together. Rider Switch splits your group up into two groups. What you will do is bring your entire party to the greeting Cast Member at the beginning of the attraction queue entrance and let them know you want to utilize Rider Switch. The first group or just you from your description would wait in the queue and ride the attraction. When you are done, the Cast Member will scan the tickets for your husband and son and they would be able to ride from the appropriate attraction return line to ride the attraction without the full queue wait while you wait for them to be done.

If you are wanting to ride attractions together you will need to wait it out in the regular queue or look into Disney Genie+ which will allow you to use the Lightning Lane for the participating attractions. I recommend keeping an eye on wait times in the Disneyland app for when wait times are lower for your favorite attractions and packing lots of snacks!

K, thanks so much for stopping by! See you real soon!
