I’ve been trying to buy tickets to Disneyland online and the website will not accept my Mastercard. But my bank says it’s being declined by you guys….

    Hi Alisha!

Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney!

I'm so sorry that you're having a bit of ticket trouble. You're not the first one I've seen say this lately. I wonder if something is going on with certain card brands, or if the dates you were looking at were temporarily sold out. Either way, I think I might have some tricks that can get you some tickets!

First up, I see that there are plenty of Theme Park Admission Tickets for sale as well as full availability of Park Pass Reservations for your desired Disney Dates. So that's not the issue. (Remember that Park Pass Reservations must be made in addition to purchasing your tickets. If purchasing Park Hopper tickets, you'll select the theme park you plan on starting your day in, with the ability to hop over to the other after 1:00 PM.)

While I don't know the exact issue that is happening, a workaround that you might be able to do is purchase your theme park admission tickets elsewhere and then link them back to your My Disneyland Account or Disneyland Mobile App. I would recommend reputable almost partner-sellers, like Costco or AAA, vs. websites that may or may not be legitimate travel agents. You might find physical Disney Ticket Gift Cards at your local grocery store or big box store. (Check in the 'Gift Card Mall' area, usually near either electronics or birthday cards.) For sure check Target.com as they sell e-tickets that will be delivered directly to your inbox within a few hours.

Another trick you might be able to try is to buy Disney Gift Cards, either physical cards or e-cards online through ShopDisney.com. You might even be able to find places that sell physical gift cards with slightly more value loaded on them than what you end up paying, like at Sam's Club or Target with a RedCard. Then, you can use the Disney Gift Cards to buy your Theme Park Admission Tickets. The one thing about this plan is that you can only use so many Disney Gift Cards when purchasing Disneyland tickets online, so you might have to break up your transactions.

Pro Tip: Any money leftover on a Disney Gift Card can be used throughout the park on everything from snacks to souvenEARs. You can even use it to pay for the brand new Disney Genie+ or a Mobile Food and Beverage Order in your Disneyland Mobile App!

I hope that this helped to purchase some tickets to The Happiest Place on Earth, Alisha! Be sure to follow the official planDisney Instagram account for even more tips and tricks. And if you have any more Disneyland Resort vacation planning questions, We're All Ears!
