I am trying to buy my brother and I an annual pass but it’s not letting me because he is a minor. What can I do?

    Hiya, Keira!

Oh boy! I wish I were a sibling as sweet and generous as you. How exciting it is that you seem to be planning to make many magical memories with your brother at The Happiest Place on Earth.

It's great that you stopped by planDisney to seek out advice for making the most of your experiences at the Disneyland Resort. As fellow Guests like you, we love to share tips and tricks for enjoying your time in the theme parks, Downtown Disney District, and the Disneyland Resort Hotels. As another Guest rather than a Cast Member, I may not be able to see all of the details of your My Disney profile and information about what may or may not be happening as you attempt to purchase your Magic Key passes. But I'm happy to share with you insights and possibilities to consider to help you successfully navigate the pass purchase process.

Your question poses quite a mystery to consider. It's quite common to purchase Magic Key passes for minors. I've purchased them for my minor children in the past. So it's unexpected that something is impeding your progress with a Magic Key purchase. There could be something I'm unable to help resolve myself directly. So it may be helpful to reach out to a Cast Member with the Magic Key Holders phone line for assistance with your specific issue. That said, there is one thing that comes to mind that you may wish to consider.

After exploring Magic Key pass information and selecting a specific pass type, you will come to a page to select the number of that pass type to add to your online cart. On that same page, California residents have the option to select either payment in full or monthly payments with no interest and with a modest down payment. (You lucky Californians!) If you wish to use the monthly payment option, it's important to select the checkbox labeled "I am a California resident and at least 18 years of age." The monthly payment option requires checking this box even if you are only purchasing a Magic Key pass for a minor child. The age certification applies to the person entering into a legal contract to make payments rather than to the minor who will be using the new pass. I don't know for sure whether that's the issue you are experiencing. But it's worth taking a look there.

As you advance toward your purchase, I'd like to say welcome to the Magic Key Holder family. Having been a key holder for many years and a legacy Disneyland Resort Annual Passholder before that, I've come to appreciate the convenience and benefits of being a key holder. I'm confident that you are going to love it too!

    Enjoy the magic, Keira!
