    Trying to budget for our Nov. 2014 trip. We are planning on using the disney dining plan. However, I have heard most places want your credit card number to make reservations. Do most places withdraw money and then credit you back? That's a lot of money

    Hi Hayley, 

    Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I am so excited to hear that you will be visiting Walt Disney World Resort in November, it is such a wonderful time of year to visit.  My family and I absolutely love using the Disney Dining Plan, it is so simple to use!  We find that using the plan does save our family a significant amount of money.  When booking your dining reservations using the Disney Dining Plan your credit card will be required as a guarantee only.  Nothing will be charged unless you do not show up to your reservation or do not cancel within the given time period.  Most Table Service Locations have a $10.00 per person fee, however I would recommend checking the cancellation policies for each dining location, as they can vary from location to location so you do not end up with cancellation fees.  When you arrive at the Dining Location, simply tell the Cast Member you are planning on using your Disney Dining Plan, and your credit card will not be charged.  

    If you were not using the Disney Dining Plan, some dining locations (such as Cinderella's Royal Table) and Dinner Shows will require pre-payment, however this will not apply to your family.  Yet another convenience of using the Disney Dining Plan!
