Hey there, Mariel, and welcome to planDisney! You are now inside of the coveted 60-day window for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation! Do you know what that means? That you are close enough to your vacation to start packing! Well, it’s still a bit early for that, unless you’re feeling really ambitious.
Mariel, I’m sorry that you haven’t been able to secure a dining reservation for your preferred restaurants.
Chef Mickey’s and
Topolino’s Terrace are both very popular breakfast locations, and the reservations tend to fill up quickly. But I do have a few suggestions that have always worked out for me when I’m securing those more popular reservations.
If you are staying in a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel as part of your vacation, I suggest looking for availability on mornings near the end of your stay. Since Disney Resorts Collection hotel Guests can book reservations for their entire stay when the dining reservation window opens, there is usually less competition for those dates later into your stay. Since your dining reservation window opened yesterday, there is some time left to search availability before the next wave of Guests’ windows opens. If you are still unable to find a reservation, I recommend taking a few minutes each day to check back in and see if any new availability has opened. Surprisingly, persistence is key in this area. I have usually been able to find reservations just by taking a few moments and looking each day. Additionally, in my experience, new waves of reservation availability typically open up about a week before my arrival date.
If you are not staying in a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you can make dining reservations 60 days before each day of your vacation. I still recommend the persistent approach in this case. As reservations require 24-hour cancellation notification, availability can also open the day before your desired dining day. The moral of the story here is: it never hurts to check and it's never too late to check!
I hope this helps, Mariel! If you have more questions while planning your vacation,
stop back by and let me know!
