Hello Deborah!
From one Michigan resident to another, welcome to planDisney!
After the winter we have had I’m right with you in looking at planning a visit to the sunshine and the magic of Walt Disney World! The snow has just barely melted off my lawn, and the days are finally showing some signs of springtime here in the Great Lakes State!
Once we get you in the air from your home airport and get you wheels down in Orlando at MCO, I can give you some recommendations on how to get to your Disney Resort hotel!
My family has used both rideshare services and shuttle services to get us to our resort. The shuttle, which you can find with a quick internet search, is basically a bus that takes many families and makes multiple stops at
Disney Resort hotels. This takes a bit longer because the shuttle will wait to fill up at the airport, and you could be one of the last drop off points, but we find it to be safe and economical. You can also set this shuttle up for the round trip, so it will take care of your return trip to the airport as well.
If you want something a bit quicker, ride share services are easy to pre-arrange on an app and will take you directly to your resort. It’s an easy process to find the pick-up point after you pick up your luggage with signs that point you right to the pick-up spot. The cost is a bit more than the shuttle, but the time you save might be worth it to you.
You could also sprinkle some pixie dust on your ride to the magic from the airport with the new
Minnie Van airport service that is available for Guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resort hotels, Disney Deluxe Villa Resort hotels and Club Level rooms. You can book Minnie Van airport service beginning 60 days in advance of your visit, up until two days before your visit!
Deborah, sometimes our plans take us from our home base in Michigan to Orlando Sanford airport aboard Allegiant Air. That airport does not offer the shuttle service I was mentioning, and if you are flying into Sanford, your best mode of transportation to the Disney Resorts would be a rideshare or search for a private company to transport you. I have only used rideshare from Sanford, and it has always been fine.
Deborah, I hope this helps you make those plans and get that magical adventure on the books! When you do, make sure you enjoy a Mickey Bar or two!
