Hello, Roxanne,
Ah, the island charm of
Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar is such a wonderful thing to experience. It’s a wonderful treat while staying at or visiting the
Disneyland Hotel. I’d be happy to help with ideas for how to get the reservations you are looking for.
The
dining reservation system at the Disneyland Resort is designed to simultaneously query availability across all of the participating restaurants at the resort. So the interface supports requesting a potential maximum table size for any of the restaurants. Once you filter down into a specific restaurant, the interface displays only availability that lines up with the specific table configurations of that restaurant. Restaurants that have very few if any tables that accommodate larger parties may end up showing no availability for that party size.
If you have flexibility with your party composition, I recommend having two or more adults in your party attempt to book separate reservations for the same date and similar time of day at the restaurant using smaller group sizes that add up to your full group size. Then, when you arrive at the restaurant for your reservations, I recommend politely asking the restaurant host if you can have your parties seated as close to each other as possible. While seating requests may not always be possible to grant, Cast Members are usually willing to do what they can to accommodate. You may need to wait slightly longer for tables to become available when making special requests.
The space inside Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar is quite intimate. Most of the booths accommodate only small parties of about four Guests. While I can’t guarantee it, those coveted advanced dining reservations at Trader Sam’s are going to be the most likely option for possibly getting an inside table. Lower wait times and even possible
mobile walk-up availability are more likely with outside seating, which may also offer more flexibility for seating large parties closer together.
Mahalo for asking your question here at planDisney, Roxanne. If we can help answer any other questions you may have about visiting the Disneyland Resort, we’d love to hear from you again.
