Hi Nancy!
Welcome to planDisney! Planning for a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is an exciting time! I love looking at all of the properties and making that first step in the planning process - choosing where I'm going to stay!
Nancy, Walt Disney World Resort features several categories in the
Disney Resorts Collection for guests to choose from based on their vacation and budget needs. I did a quick search of your dates and I see the same thing you are - no availability at the All-Star Resorts. Then I visited the events page for
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and saw that there were several large cheer and dance competitions taking place over those days. The
Value Resorts are often popular choices for sports teams and youth groups attending events at Walt Disney World Resort and I'm guessing that they are probably filled with athletes competing in these events.
When I expanded my search to include all resort categories, I did see availability at other properties including two of my favorite Moderate Resorts.
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort has a genuinely laid-back island vibe with hammocks, beaches, and a beautiful main pool. It's also conveniently located as the hub of the
Disney Skyliner providing easy access to both Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. There is also a popular dining choice in
Sebastian's Bistro. I have also enjoyed staying at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. Here you'll feel like you've stepped back in time to historic New Orleans. There are several
recreational activities available here including horse-drawn carriage rides, fishing, and FIVE pools! Guests at this property have easy access to
Disney Springs by taking a ride on the
Sassagoula River Cruise! You can check out
current special offers to see what may be available at these properties.
Another option you may want to consider is checking out some of
Disney's Good Neighbor Hotels in the Disney Springs Area. While these aren't officially Disney properties, many have partnered with Walt Disney World Resort to offer benefits like
early theme park entry to their guests as well. Packages for these properties can be booked directly through the Walt Disney World Resort website and may provide another option in your price range. In this category, I've enjoyed staying at the
DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando as it's an all-suite property that provides a lot of space for my family to spread out!
Nancy, regardless of where you stay, I'm sending pixie-dusted wishes for a wonderful vacation to Walt Disney World Resort! Please stop by and see me or any of my panelist pals again in the future with other vacation planning questions!
See ya real soon,
Kristi
