I have been trying to book the Saratoga Springs 2 br villa for multiple dates in 2009 and the answer always comes back that it is not available. Neither are the other villas. What am I doing wrong or are they booked for the entire year already?

The villa rooms can be reserved by regular Disney guests, but since these are Disney Vacation Club resorts, Disney Vacation Club members get first crack at them. This means that DVC members have a reservation availability window before others. My family are DVC members. My understanding is that DVC members can reserve rooms at their home resort (the one at which they own points) up to 11 months in advance. They can reserve at non-home DVC resort seven months in advance. Regular guests can only reserve villa rooms 6 months (or sometimes even less) in advance. Contrast this with the fact that any guest can reserve a regular (non-DVC) hotel room 499 days in advance.

If you're trying to reserve a villa room for a day more than six months year and you're not a DVC member, then this would be unavailable for reservation now, even though you may find plenty of availability later. My next step for you would be to get on the phone with Disney reservations at 407-W-DISNEY and discuss with them when regular guests will be able to make reservations at the villas for the dates you're interested in.

    Good luck.
