Hiya, Sarah! Welcome to
planDisney, where our goal is to help our fellow Disney-loving friends plan awesome Disney vacations! Thank you so, so much for stopping by with your question.
In order for you to book a Disney Resorts Collection hotel room for five people but only purchase Theme Park tickets for four, you will need to head to the
Walt Disney World Resort website. Once you're there, you'll see a banner at the very top where you'll need to input your vacation dates, the amount of people who will be traveling with you, and the Resort hotel of your preference. When you're done, click on View Rates, scroll down until you come across the most convenient offer for you, and click on it.
After you've picked an offer, the website will take you to your Resort hotel's webpage, where you'll see all the different room types and prices. Before you scroll all the way down, though, take a moment to locate the Offers banner. Here, you should see at least two different offers: Room and Package. Go ahead and pick Room, and then click on the Resort hotel room that makes the most sense to you and your travel party. Now, the website will take you to what I call "the tweak station". Here, you'll need to select the number of days for your Theme Park tickets, where I need you to select the No Ticket option. Once you've done that, scroll all the way down and click on Continue. You should see your cart now, so go ahead and check out whenever you're ready.
Now, Sarah, let's get you your tickets! After you've booked your Resort hotel room, you'll need to head back to the Walt Disney World Resort website, hover over the Parks & Tickets tab, and click on
Theme Park Tickets. Now, scroll down and click on Continue. You'll need to select the number of days you need your tickets for, as well as the ticket type that you'd like. Once you've done that, you'll need to choose a start date for your tickets as well. Now, scroll down and select the number of tickets that you need for your vacation. When you're done, click on Continue and customize your tickets to your liking. I suggest that you purchase the Memory Maker service, which lets you download all of your vacation pictures taken by the amazing Disney PhotoPass photographers! When you're done, scroll down once more and click on Select. This will take you to your cart once again, and you'll be able to check out whenever you're ready!
Remember that Theme Park tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable, so be careful when assigning them to the people in your travel party. I would also like to recommend that you make your
Theme Park reservations as soon as you've secured your tickets!
Sarah, please don't hesitate to come back if you have any other questions about planning a Disney vacation. We're happy to help!
Have a magical day,
Ana Paula
