Hello, we are trying to book restaurant reservations for May 8, 2026, as per the 60-day rule. We really wanted the Plaza Inn Dining Package and the Blue Bayou for lunch, but both show as closed on Friday, May 8? Is there a special event on May 8?

Hi there, Randy, and welcome to planDisney!

Your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth is getting closer and closer. I can only imagine your excitement! Planning out our foodie adventures is my favorite part about preparing for a Disneyland vacation.

You are correct, both the Plaza Inn Dining Package and reservations for Blue Bayou Restaurant are closed on May 8th, according to the Disneyland mobile app. There is a special event happening at Disney California Adventure, but that usually does not affect Disneyland Park.

Blue Bayou will be closed for refurbishments, which will begin on May 4th. While reservations are available for breakfast at the Plaza Inn on May 8th, you can dine at this restaurant without any reservations throughout the rest of the day. Since the Dining Package is listed as being closed, I would recommend speaking with a Cast Member at Plaza Inn during your visit to see if anything has changed.

Bonus Tip: Even without the reserved viewing area that comes with the Dining Package, you can still find a great spot to enjoy the Paint the Night parade! My family and I found a spot at the corner of Main Street, U.S.A., near Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe, about two hours before showtime. To ease the wait, we mobile-ordered some snacks to enjoy. The view was totally worth it!

Randy, I hope this information is helpful and that you have the most magical time during your upcoming visit to Disneyland! If you have any more questions, you are always welcome here at planDisney. Safe travels!

Sending you faith, trust, and pixie dust,
    Karmeen
