Bright suns, Denise and welcome to planDisney. I am quite excited to hear that you will be heading to Batuu soon!
I'm sorry to hear that you are having some trouble getting reservations at
Oga's Cantina. This watering hole is quite popular amongst travelers and bounty hunters alike. While we planDisney panelists do seem to be one with the force for our planning tips, our force doesn't quite reach into the realm of reservations and Guest relations. We are Guests just like you, so we don't have any access to reservations, unfortunately. However, I don't want you to give up hope! Let me share my tips with you.
Tip #1: Keep checking the
dining reservation system. The reservation system is fluid, so when Guests cancel a reservation, it will pop up in the system. I've had success getting a reservation on a random day a few weeks before my arrival. I do find that this seems to be most successful in the day or two before your arrival or preferred date. This is the last chance for Guests to cancel to avoid a no-show fee and usually when you see last-minute reservations pop up.
Tip #2: In the Disneyland app, you can access the
mobile walk-up list for participating locations and Oga's Cantina is one of them. When you search Oga's Cantina in the search feature, you can click on the corresponding page and it will have an option to "Join Walk-Up List". Above that option, it will either have a wait time in blue and this means you can join the list if you are in close proximity to that location. There also may be a notice that the walk-up list is at capacity. Even if it says the walk-up list is at capacity, it wouldn't hurt to check in with a Cast Member out front, especially if it is in the morning. Last week, the app prompted me that the list was at capacity, but when I walked up to a Cast Member, we were seated right away. I think this was because it was before noon and they didn't have a need for the walk-up list yet.
Denise, I hope that my tips help you strengthen your force to secure a reservation. Be careful with the Fuzzy Tauntaun and tell DJ R-3X I said hello!
