Hi Karen,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Decisions, decisions - I called to check with a cast member about the refurbishments happening at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. She indicated that the refurbishment is scheduled to start after Labor Day. Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is also undergoing a transformation. Keep that in mind as you consider a pirate-themed room. Pirate-themed rooms appeal to our adventurous side but the standard rooms are quite nice. I also called to speak with a cast member to verify that pirate-themed rooms are located in Trinidad South. I suggest that you take a look at a resort map online to determine if the distance from Trinidad South to the main Centertown dining area at the resort is manageable for your family. Be sure to review all of the
dining options that are available during the construction.
I recommend that you consider Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter or Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. I just returned from a visit to Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and it was lovely. We stayed in Magnolia Terrace and the location was great. On several days, we walked over to Disney's Port Orleans - French Quarter. Given the ages of your little ones, the main pool areas at both resorts are fun. At Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, the pools feature
Ol' Man Island and at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, they feature
Doubloon Lagoon.
Karen, I trust you will make the decision that is best for your family!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
