Trying to book for January 2027. I heard that you are able to book a room only reservation 499 days in advance. Is that not accurate information?

Hey-Howdy-Hey, Brian! I just know the excitement is building as you're getting ready to book a trip for January 2027. If you're anything like me, you've probably spent hours on the Walt Disney World Resort website hitting refresh just in case the reservations open up at that exact moment. I know it can be tough to wait, but I do have some information for you that will hopefully make time fly.

There's no set amount of days that guests can book their trip in advance, and reservations are usually made available on a rolling basis with the seasons. The typical pattern would have 2027 bookings opening up sometime in the spring, but this is not guaranteed. Last year's announcement for 2026 dates came in April, and guests were able to book rooms and packages through October 2026. It's anyone's guess when availability will be announced, so keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for updates.

Even though you can't book your room just yet, you can start looking at where you might like to stay. The Disney Resort hotels cater to all budgets and party sizes, so you can scope out the perfect theme and location for your vacation. You can also start researching dining locations and menus, attractions and entertainment at the theme parks, and ticket types. I recommend taking a look at the Ticket Buying Guide to help decide what kind of ticket you'll need. There's so much to do and see in Disney World, so gather up the must-dos for everyone in your party and start making a tentative itinerary for your visit.

Hang in there a little while longer, Brian! If you decide to start your planning research now and come up with any questions that need answering, make sure you ask us here at planDisney. We want to help ensure that your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth is picture perfect!

    Stay magical,
