I am trying to book hotel room now for April or May 2024, what a your slowest days of those two months

Hello there Nancy, thank you for stopping by planDisney with your great planning question!

The Disneyland Resort can definitely be busy any month you visit, but between April and May, I would aim for late April or early May.  Late April is usually after most of the Spring Breaks have ended, and early May would be before most of the Disneyland Grad Nite events take place where graduating High School Seniors are celebrated.  Both Spring Break and the Grad Nites definitely bring more crowds into the parks and the Disneyland Resort in general.

Nancy, there are some great strategies I recommend for visiting the parks during higher crowd levels.  The first is to "rope drop", which means to arrive to parks early, even before they even open.  I recommend arriving to the gates of the parks at least 30 minutes prior to them opening, and then you'll be some of the first Guests through the gates!  You will then be held at a rope inside the park until it's dropped at park opening time, allowing Guests to head to their first attraction.

I also recommend purchasing Disney Genie+ Service for each day you'll be visiting the parks.  With Disney Genie+ Service, you'll save time waiting in line with access to Lightning Lane entrances for select attractions.  You can also purchase certain Individual Lightning Lane selections for the most sought after attractions such as Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disneyland Park, and Radiator Springs Racers in Disney California Adventure Park.  I buy the service each time I visit, and it truly does save so much time during our trip.

I hope this information is helpful for your planning Nancy.  If you think of any other questions, please do not hesitate to come back to planDisney and ask!

    Have a magical day!
