I am trying to get a better idea of the cost of groceries inside fw campground. We are rving and might need more food during our stay. I know they are more pricey, but by how much?

    Nicole:

I look at the Meadows and Settlement Trading Posts more like emergency provisions (just last month we ran out of the most important thing to me on a trip: RV toilet paper!!!!!!).

Their selection and prices are more in line with stopping at a gas station's mini mart.....Although they do carry milk, frozen pizzas, and even Entenmann's donuts and fresh hot dog buns, I don't recommend them for heavy-duty grocery shopping.

Because we have limited cabinet space in our RV, we like to do our shopping in Gainesville at one of the Publix right off the interstate (Florida posts signs for supermarkets, much like they do for gas stations and fast-food restaurants).  This allows us to travel only a short distance with extra groceries in the aisle.  You might want to consider storing some of your non-perishables outside of the RV if you're cramped for storage....We take a 10 x 10 canopy tent to set up over the campsite's picnic table and I store non-perishables on top of the table if I need to.

My thought: take more than you'll need.  If you have extras, you can eat them when you get home!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
