I am trying to use my AmEx points on the flight purchase so I won't be putting that into the package. Should I assume that I book the Disney hotel, park hopper, dining plans FIRST and then book a that order? Will it impact any deals on the pkg?

    Hi, Antonia!

I always book my flights separate from my Walt Disney World package.  This way, I can pick my exact flights and I feel like I can get a better price (in your case, really a better price if booking flights with points!)  Booking your flights on your own will not make any difference with any deals being offered.

I usually book the resort portion of my trip first.  Here, you can also add on your park tickets and the Disney Dining Plan.  I then book my flights.  (You may need to reverse these two options if there are any date restrictions on your flight.)  If you do book your flights and find you need to switch the dates you booked at WDW, simply call a friendly reservationist at (407)W-DISNEY.  There is no change fee to move your vacation dates but there may be a difference in rates if dates or resorts change.

Once I hit my 180 days out from arrival, I then plot out my itinerary complete with what parks I plan to visit on which days then fill in dining reservations.  As you get closer you can then book your FastPass+ options and even do online check-in.

Whew, after all that work, you certainly deserve a wonderful, magical Walt Disney World vacation.  Good luck!
