Hi Katherine Amy, welcome to planDisney!
I most often visit Walt Disney World Resort as a multigenerational party of six. The tech side of Disney magic works a bit differently for each of us, but we experience the magic together when viewing Cinderella Castle, enjoying classic attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean, and waving to Mickey during the
Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade.
All Guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort require a My Disney Experience account or account profile. This is the digital space that houses an individual's vacation entitlements - Disney Resort hotel reservations, tickets, dining reservations, Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations, and more. In my family, my husband has his own My Disney Experience account and we are connected as
Family & Friends. My parents and children have My Disney Experience account profiles managed by my account. Their names appear with the words "Plans managed by me" on my Family & Friends list. How a person is connected to you in My Disney Experience dictates whether or not you can download their Disney MagicMobile pass.
Disney MagicMobile passes are a convenient
method of entry that let you tap in at theme park entry, Lightning Lane entrances, with Disney PhotoPass photographers, and more. Valid admission linked to a My Disney Experience account or account profile allows Guests to download a Disney MagicMobile pass to eligible iPhones, Apple Watches, or Google Pay enabled Android phones in the
My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines at the bottom right of the app's home page --> Disney MagicMobile).
You can only download Disney MagicMobile passes for yourself and anyone whose My Disney Experience account profiles you manage. My best guess, Katherine Amy, is that you are unable to download Disney MagicMobile passes for two members of your party because they have their own My Disney Experience accounts. In my case, I can download Disney MagicMobile passes for my parents and children, but I cannot download a Disney MagicMobile pass for my husband. Disney MagicMobile passes can be shared via Apple iMessage with eligible iPhones in the My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines --> Disney MagicMobile --> Select Passes to Share), which is how I added my husband's pass to my Apple Wallet.
Other methods of entry that can be used to gain entry at a theme park are MagicBands and admission cards. My son enjoyed using an admission card (obtained at Guest Relations or a theme park ticket window) on a retractable badge holder during our most recent visit and my daughter's must-have souvenir was a Stitch MagicBand+. Methods of entry can be used interchangeably on your trip.
I hope this information helps you tap into magic on your vacation, Katherine Amy. If I misunderstood your situation, please reply to me
directly and we'll keep troubleshooting.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
