We are going to try a water park for the 1st time and we are not sure on which one we should try. Our daughter is 8. Which one would you recommend. Thanks

Hi Tammy! Both water things parks are wonderful and each have individual things that families fall in love with.  However, for a first visit I would select Blizzard Beach as there is a great area for  kids called Ski Patrol Training Camp.  Here you will find a large variety of slides and activities for the kids who are not ready to head down the larger ones found in the park. It is a great place to test a child's nerves so they aren't scared at some of the more intense falls.

Please click HERE to see a short description of all the Blizzard Beach water activities. Be sure and take the Chair LIft up to Teamboat Springs which is a great family raft ride. Melt Away Bay is the fun easy going wave pool that is fun but be careful of the rough bottom.  One of our favorite things to do is the Cross Country Creek which is a lazy river type ride.  Grab a float and relax for the next 20 minutes or so as you circle the park at a slow calming speed.

You might be interested in renting a Polar Patio while you are there. These are simple cabanas and you can reserve one just for your family. It is nice to have a place in the shade with chairs that you know will always be there when you return from a ride.  There is a small safe in each as well as a cooler full of water. You will be given drink mugs that you can refill all day at no charge and a cabana person will help you get food delivered throughout the day.  It is costly but a nice way to enjoy a water park.

Before you head home consider heading out the front gates and taking on the mini golf courses.  You can do this mid day too if you want a change of scenery for a couple of hours.

Enjoy your day and stay cool!
