Ahoy, Frances!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so excited that you will be sailing to
Disney's private island, Castaway Cay! My family and I visited this tropical paradise just last week and were able to reserve our own private cabana before setting sail. When we arrived and entered our island getaway for the day, we felt immediately relaxed and knew how difficult it would be to leave!
Frances, Guests are able to reserve a private cabana once their cruise is paid in full and their
advance booking window opens. For first-time cruisers, the advance booking window opens 75 days prior to setting sail. Once your advance booking window opens, go to "My Reservations" and then to "My Cruise Activities" in order to book a private cabana on Castaway Cay! I do want to mention that these private cabanas are extremely popular and Guests who have previously sailed with Captain Mickey, or are Concierge Level, get to begin booking their onboard activities and Port Adventures earlier. If your advance booking window opens and you find the cabanas are sold out, don't give up hope! I recommend checking back before your cruise because Guests' plans can change, resulting in private cabanas sometimes becoming available. If you still haven't reserved one by the time you arrive onboard, stop by the Port Adventures Desk to see if there have been any last-minute cancelations!
Even if you aren't able to reserve a private cabana for your upcoming cruise, you can still look forward to a relaxing time lounging on the beach in your own lounge chair under the shade of a palm tree swaying in the breeze! There are an abundance of lounge chairs, beach umbrellas, beach chairs and hammocks throughout the island, making it the perfect tropical destination!
