If I try to link a magic band that I had from last year to this years tickets and it says that the number is already linked to another account, what does that mean?

    Welcome to planDisney, Karen!

Your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is just about a month away, and I know JUST how excited you’re getting. You will be in the magic so soon!

MagicBands are one of my must-have Disney accessories. Not only are there so many cute designs to reflect your favorite attractions, characters, treats, and colors, but they unlock so much magic. Snapping that beauty on my wrist sends a message straight to my heart: vacation has begun.

So, let’s figure out what’s going on so we can get the MagicBand on your wrist and your vacation party started. My first question is: was the MagicBand associated to your own account, or someone else’s, for the visit last year? For example, if the band was originally assigned to your child, it can’t be reassigned to you. Once connected to a Guest, MagicBands can’t be transferred to a different Guest.

If this MagicBand was connected to you last year and is now giving you an error message, it sounds like a glitch. Sometimes Stitch gets into the system and creates confusion! In your My Disney Experience account, look at My Profile and then MagicBands & Cards. You should see a list of all MagicBands associated with you, and whether they’re active or inactive. If you see the band listed there, and it shows as active and associated with you, it should be all set to use.

If you’ve tried these things and are still not having luck, please call the MagicBand help line at (407) 939-4357. They can look up your account and the band in question and see what they can do to help.

Have so much fun counting down the days to your visit next month! Be sure to read the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest news. Whether it’s health and safety updates or the latest mouthwatering treats, I love feeling “in the know” about all things in Mickey’s world. As you plan and dream, please come back and see us if we can help with any more questions.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
