Is it true that the refillable mugs and the pop machines have micro chips in them, so that the machine will only dispense pop to mugs with the chips?

    Hi Ryan!

Yes, it is true that over the summer of this year (2013) Disney has instituted a new refillable mug system in all the Walt Disney World Resorts, called Disney Rapid Fill. The plastic refillable mugs for this new Rapid Fill system have an RF chip in the bottom of them. Guests can purchase 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, or length of stay packages for their Rapid Fill refillable mug. Also new with this Rapid Fill system is that you can refill them at any Walt Disney World Resort. There are also RF chips in the paper cups at the Resorts too (the paper cups provide a limited amount of refills for a short time period-basically only to be used for one meal).   I used my Rapid Fill mug for 10 days at six different Walt Disney World Resorts at Walt Disney World at the end of September and beginning of October this year and it was easy to use!

I hope that your next Walt Disney World vacation is truly magical in every way!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
