Hi there, Susan! Welcome to planDisney. Lightning Lanes are a great way to race through the park day, ensuring not a favorite attraction is missed. I’d love to walk you through how to make sure you’re zooming with your Lightning Lanes like Lightning McQueen!
If you’re typically a Walt Disney World frequenter,
Lightning Lane can differ from that of Disneyland. While you can pre-book your Lightning Lanes at Walt Disney World, that is not the case for Disneyland. When you purchase your park ticket, you have the option to add on a Lightning Lane Multi-Pass, Single Pass, or Premier Pass. Unlike Disney World, where you are able to pre-book your passes, you’ll need to scan your park ticket in order to begin booking your passes on the
Disneyland app. I know it can be a little different, but fear not, I promise this difference won’t take away from the magic!
Once you’ve scanned your park ticket and you’re walking through those entry gates, go ahead and book your first Lightning Lane. When you get to your attraction, you’ll scan your Lightning Lane to proceed through the line. When I use the Multi-Pass, I’ve always found that as I’m in line for that just-scanned attraction, I can book my next Lightning Lane to maximize the use of the passes! A bonus of using the Multi-Pass and even the Premier Pass is that you’re able to receive unlimited downloads of
Disney PhotoPass digital photos from your park day.
Susan, thank you so much for visiting planDisney! I hope this information helps as you continue to plan your upcoming visit. If you have any more questions until then,
planDisney is here to help!
