Is it true that we are not allowed to bring a wagon into the Disney parks? I have a 7 year old who has type 1 diabetes and I bought a collapsible wagon to bring to our upcoming Disney world Vacation for him to ride in when he gets tired.

    Hi Cheryl,

A Disney World Resort vacation can be tiring for anyone especially young children. We had to upgrade to a double stroller during one vacation because my energizer bunny six year old niece was tired after day one.

Wagons are not allowed at Walt Disney World. You could rent a stroller at the parks or from one of the local Orlando stroller companies. You could also rent a wheelchair as well.

The two parks where you would need it the most are Epcot and Disney's Animal Kingdom. Epcot is just huge and there is a lot of walking between the attractions as well as from Future World to World Showcase. Epcot is best done on fresh legs.

Disney's Animal Kingdom is large as well because of the space for the animals. In addition, the pavement is not smooth which makes it even more tiring.

Disney's Hollywood Studios is compact and you spend time sitting while enjoying the shows. Magic Kingdom also can feel small if you stay in one area and complete all the attractions in that land prior to moving to another.

Use the My Disney Experience app and FastPass+ to cut down on wait times. Go slow and eliminate some attractions. You can also bring food and drinks into the park to help your son manage his sugar.

Also, the Baby Care Centers can be used as a place to relax and keep cool if you need it.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
