Hi April,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. I am firmly on #teamglitter and believe that sparkles make everything better! Tinker Bell takes her job pretty seriously, and I’ve seen her waving her wand and sprinkling her magic pixie-dust many, many times in Magic Kingdom Park – and she’s a pretty tough fairy, so I don’t think anyone’s about to stop her!
My son visited
Harmony Barber Shop in April of this year, and at the end of his haircut, he was offered both pixie-dust and pirate-dust to finish his look. Naturally, he chose both – like mother, like son. The Cast Members in Harmony Barber Shop shared with me that the pixie-dust ceremony is beloved by many Guests, and they did not mention any plans for it to stop.
What they did share was that the pixie-dust ceremony is offered to Guests with haircut reservations at the Harmony Barber Shop as a first priority. When my son’s cut was over, my whole family was offered pixie-dust – and I think you know by now that I very enthusiastically agreed. Guests who would like a coating of pixie-dust without a haircut reservation are welcome to walk in and politely request it, but please be aware that they are often totally booked, and sometimes cannot accommodate these requests. If you absolutely must have the pixie-dust ceremony, I would advise making a reservation for a haircut (even a trim works) by calling (407) 939-7529. I've also heard that pixie-dust wishes can sometimes be granted at the
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, if they are not too busy granting Prince and Princess wishes.
Wishing you much pixie-dust and a magical visit to Walt Disney World, April!
