Is it true that when you have a Dining Plan, that you are only able to order specific items off the menu? Meaning some dishes are unavailable unless you want to pay out-of-pocket?

    Hi, Matt!

When ordering a Table Service meal, a credit from the Disney Dining Plan will cover an entrée and a dessert. You also get a non-alcoholic beverage, such as a soft drink, coffee, or tea.  When available, you can swap your dessert for a salad or soup (but really who wants to skip those awesome desserts?!)

Additional items that you will be charged for are appetizers, specialty or alcoholic drinks, and any additional items you might add to your meal (example:  adding a shrimp skewer onto your steak or asking for an extra side dish with your entrée).

When ordering, your server will be happy to explain your menu options so you do not have any surprise charges on your bill at the end of your meal.  Remember that you will need to pay for gratuity as it is not included in the price of the dining plan.

I hope you get to enjoy some fabulous meals in Walt Disney World!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
