Hi! Is it still true that you can only see the Beast at Be Our Guest at dinner service, not lunch? We could only get a reservation at lunch, so I want to set my expectations correctly. Thanks!

    Bonjour, Rebecca!

It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that I help you understand what to expect at the stunning Be Our Guest restaurant in Magic Kingdom Park. How exciting that you have a special Walt Disney World Resort vacation in just a few weeks! Dining inside the Beast’s enchanted castle in Fantasyland is always a delight, no matter which meal you select.

Please know that while lunch and dinner now feature the same fixed price menu, neither is considered an official character dining experience. Some popular restaurants for traditional character dining at the Walt Disney World Resort include Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort or Tusker House Restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. At these experiences, several characters make personalized visits to your table during a meal and may also sign autographs or take pictures with your family. At Be Our Guest, you are dining inside the Beast’s home so if he is in a good mood, he may choose to welcome his guests and make an appearance. Tales of him visiting during both lunch and dinner have been told, but it’s probably best to welcome a surprise and not have anyone’s hopes up since this meal is not advertised as a true character dining experience to formally meet the Beast.

A meal at Be Our Guest is truly unforgettable, Rebecca. Each of the three dining rooms is stunning, so whether you sit in The Grand Ballroom, The West Wing, or The Rose Gallery you are sure to be fully immersed in this classic animated tale. The menu is delightful, with a full 3-course meal featuring French-inspired dishes in a very approachable presentation for palates of all ages. Be sure to take a full tour and visit every room before you leave the castle, there are so many details to take in! My favorite is the back wall of windows in The Grand Ballroom where art from the animated classic film is used as your backdrop looking out into the snowy night.

There is so much to plan for a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and I appreciate you wanting to know all the details for each aspect of your carefully crafted trip! I’ve learned to take some experiences in stride and enjoy being surprised with Disney magic every now and then. I am sending you lots of pixie dust in hopes that you will get to meet The Master at his grand castle home during your lunch.

Please send us any additional questions you have as you finalize your magical vacation plans.

    Bon Appetit,
