Hi John,
So glad you could join us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question-welcome!
One of my favorite things about the
Walt Disney World Resort is their desire to ensure that all guests have a magical experience and the accommodations they provide for guests.
If you have
hearing impairments, there are several accommodations available to you. Your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room may be equipped with devices such as strobe lights and bed shaking notifications to ensure that you can safely make it out of your room in case of an emergency such as a fire alarm.
Within the theme parks, you may request Assistive Listening devices from any Guest Relations window for a small (completely refundable) deposit on a first-come, first served basis. You may also use Handheld Devices with Handheld Captioning if that is more comfortable for you, also with a refundable deposit.
Finally, sign language interpretation is available for live shows on a specific schedule (please see link above, as schedules may change without notice); interpretation is available free of charge for specific live tours with at least 14 days advanced notice by calling Walt Disney World Resort Information.
John, I hope this has given you enough information to put you at ease about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Please come back and visit us again with any additional questions.
Best Wishes,
Amy S.
