Ahoy, Yuvaraj! Thanks for stopping by planDisney as you prepare for your upcoming vacation with Captains Minnie and Mickey. Welcome!
I'd be happy to help you prepare for your time at
Disney Lookout Cay. The Tropical Reef Safari Snorkel lets you glide above schools of dazzling fish and corals for a memorable Port Adventure. As your little explorers are still learning to swim, here’s what you should know before diving in.
Every snorkeler is required to wear a bright yellow flotation vest with a small tube to adjust the air inside for buoyancy. These aren’t bulky life jackets; they’re lightweight and designed to give swimmers gentle support while making it easier to float and relax. The crew is wonderfully attentive and ensures everyone understands how to use their vests safely before leaving the boat.
This adventure takes place off a boat in open water, where you might feel a few easygoing swells. Snorkeling from a boat typically means more movement than the calm lagoons you might find at places like
Castaway Cay. The Know Before You Go section of the
Port Adventure page states that this is suitable for all experience levels, but that guests must be able to swim. My fellow panelist, Jana, said that while her son is not a very strong swimmer,
he still had a great time. If you have more concerns, you can speak with the Crew Members at the Guest Services Desk on the ship. They might suggest an alternative adventure if you just don't feel confident with this one.
I'm wishing you lots of wonderful memories on the ship and at the beach!
Bon Voyage,
Adrianna
