Are tripods allowed in the parks?

Greetings, Oscar! Thanks for stopping by planDisney. Let's get you a snappy answer!

The Disneyland Resort Rules state: "Tripods or monopod stands that cannot fit inside a standard backpack or that extend over 6’ (182 cm) are not allowed in any theme park." So, Oscar, if your tripod is compact enough to fit in a backpack and does not extend over six feet, you should be good to go. Be aware that the Cast Members at the security checkpoint have the final say, and may deny any items they determine to be on the Prohibited Item List. I have witnessed Guests get asked to return items to their car and it is not a fun way to start the day!

Your visit will be here in just a few days - how exciting! Be sure to check out the Pixar Fest events going on in both theme parks. The picture-perfect treats from the marketplaces are some of my absolute favorite things about the event. The Gusteau Macaron from Gusteau’s To-Go in Disney California Adventure Park is close to perfection!

Oscar, I hope you have a most magical visit and make core memories. Please visit us again if you have any more questions!

    See ya real soon,
    Melissa
