1st trip to WDW with 9 yr old son, 7 nights. Had planned to attend a light show each night, but read where many prefer to watch from nearby restaurants with a view while dining. Is that really an option, or should we be 'up close and personal' ? Thx!

Hi Angela! I am so the up close and personal kind of fan of the fireworks and laser shows at night!  There really are very few dining locations to view these shows with California Grill being the most popular one to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from. Although the parks can be crowded and finding that "perfect" viewing spot a small challenge, I know I enjoy being right there where I can hear the loudest booms and feel the heat of the fire (Illuminations).  The music and atmosphere makes them all seem more magical in person!
