Trip to WDW with 2 4 year old girls for their 1st time Jan. 2015. Trying to plan out parks. I have never been to AK. Looking at the map/attractions, I am not sure it is worthwhile to go there. Am I missing something?

Hello Karen!  Thanks for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Disney's Animal Kingdom happens to be my 7 year old daughter's favorite park at the moment and has always been my husbands favorite.  So needless to say, we spend quite a bit of time there.  I very much enjoy Disney's Animal Kingdom as well and never recommend skipping it.  First off, Disney's Animal Kingdom is home to our very favorite character breakfast at Tusker House.  The food is a nice blend of traditional American fare and several African inspired dishes.  We really enjoy the variety.  It's also so much fun to dine with Donald Duck, Goofy, Daisy Duck and Mickey Mouse.  This is a great character meal. We also love getting to experience the up close and personal touch the Kilimanjaro Safaris has to offer.  If you do visit Disney's Animal Kingdom, be sure to ride the safari early when the animals are more active.  The Tree of Life is absolutely breath taking.  I'm pretty sure that most everyone stops in awe when they see it for the first time.  Disney's Animal Kingdom is also home to our 2 favorite shows, Finding Nemo -The Musical and Festival of The Lion King.  These two shows are out of this world fantastic.  My daughter has sat in awe of both of them since she was a little thing.  While there are not many attractions to actually ride on, like at the other parks, Disney's Animal Kingdom is a really fun day.

If you can find time in your schedule to even spend a half day, at least to see the shows, I highly recommend it.  I think it might surprise you how much fun you all will have once you are there.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me.  Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
