It's our 1st trip to WDW and will be staying at the Boardwalk Villas; although we have the Dining Plan we intend to eat 1 meal a day in our 1 bdrm suite. Do any local grocery stores have online shopping and deliver to the hotel or other suggestions?

    Hi Allison,

Sounds like you'll be traveling in style.  If you've never stayed in a one bedroom villa, you'll love the extra space.

There are a couple of companies in the area that will shop for you and deliver the groceries to your hotel for a fee.  Garden Grocer is the one that I hear the most about.  I haven't used them, myself, but a few of the other moms on the panel have, and I've heard good things about them.  The other company is WeGoShop. Just click on the blue links above to be guided to their websites for more information and to place your order.

I believe that at either place you need a minimum order of around $100.  If this seems like too many groceries for your stay, you may want to consider bringing a couple boxes of cereal from home.  You can purchase milk at the general store in your resort or use your snack credits to get milk.

Honestly, with the dining plan and a couple extra snacks brought from home, we've never really needed to prepare extra meals.  Some people worry about the dining plan not giving them enough food.  We were in the same boat the first time we used the plan.  I think we ended up purchasing one quick service meal out of pocket.  Other than that, we had plenty of food and had to figure out ways to use up our snack credits on the last day.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
